To celebrate this special event the province of Ferrara and all the towns and cities along the cycling route are organizing a weekend of events and appointments, along the 120 km of the trail.

Come on to celebrate along the Destra Po, a special program expect you: cycling rides, excursion, guided nature walks and visit to open museum, and of course tasting of typical local products.

The cycling path of the Destra Po has been opened in 2001 and runs through the province of Ferrara, from Stellata Bondeno up to Gorino Ferrarese, via Ro, Berra, Mesola, along the natural beauty of the Po Delta Park and the Lidos of Comacchio.

cycle race memorial pantani 2011Now at its 8th edition, the bicycle race dedicated to the memory of Marco Pantani is a competition very enjoyed by cycling enthusiasts and fans of the ‘pirate’ Pantani who annually meet to compete on the roads of Emilia Romagna loved by the champion.

The 2011 edition of the Memorial Marco Pantani is confirmed on October 1st,  one of the last date before the close of the cycling season for winter.

Departure is at 11:00 from round Panathlon in Cesena and finish to Piazza Marconi in Cesenatico at about 15:00.
The bicycle race, reserved to professionals of the bicycle, is inserted in the UCI calendar (International Cyclers Union) and has become a classic of Italian cycling races.

This route is part of the 4 non-competitive italian cycle marathons of the Giro dell’Appennino Bolognese and Valli di Comacchio, all born with the aim of highlighting the passion for cycling in the territories of Emilia Romagna.

For the Gran Fondo delle Valli Bolognesi there will be a start in the French manner, ideal for non-competitive cycling events.

gran fondo città di lugo 2011Sunday, May 29 takes place the 13th edition of the Gran Fondo “City of Lugo”, a famous amateur bike race that attracts all the cyclers in Emilia Romagna and beyond.

As in most of the non-competitive cycling events, the start was organized in the ‘French’ manner, to enable cyclists to be divided into groups and create a more harmonious ride

The event will consist of four routes:

- Long Distance 171 km, 2838 meters altitude.
- Course Fund 107 km, 1543 meters altitude. ;
- Path Middle Distance 85 km, 830 meters altitude.;
- Tourist Route 58 km, 254 meters altitude.

The start will be held at the Piazzale del Pavaglione Lugo from 6:00 to 8:00 am.
The event includes a fee of 7 Euros. Quote addition to the entry that includes all medical services and mechanics assistence, refreshments, supplies, and pasta party.
Registrations will be closed Friday, May 27 at 23:00.

The classic bike ride of mid-May is organized by the three consortia that manage the waters of the Basin Burana-Volano and presents for 2011 a new route in addition to the traditional three simultaneous paths.

The first route, in the province of Mantua, starts from Carbonara di Po, the second route starts from San Felice in Modena, the third route, starts from Ferrara, and the fourth path, the new one, starts near Bologna in the town of Palata di Pepoli near Crevalcore. The Straburana has its point of arrival in Stellata, at the crossroads of the provinces, a strategic point for communications by river.

giro d'italia 2011It will be an Italian Giro from the particular historical value, over that sporting, that that from 7th to 29th May 2011 it will cross the peninsula with his fascinating “pink caravan”.

The 21 stages of Giro d’Italia 2011 choose by Angel Zomegnan of RCS Sport will bring in fact the riders to bike on a run particularly tied up to the celebrations of the 150° anniversary from the Unity of Italy.
The start is scheduled on 7th May from the Palace of Venaria Reale in Turin with a teams time trial of 22 kilometres, while the last finish will crown the winner of the pink jersey on 29th May in Milan, with an another time trial, but this time individual, of 32 kilometres.

In many occasions, the Italian Giro 2011 will cross also the territory of some cities of art in Emilia Romagna inserted in the cycle routes of CyclE-R.

Sunday, April 17, 2011 follow us to the “Pedalata dei Sapori a Mesola“, cycling routes of taste in Mesola, near Ferrara in Emilia Romagna, a unique opportunity to explore the landscapes and the nature of the Po Delta Park enjoying the gastronomy of the territory.

The guided tour by bike is ideal for lovers of relaxation on two wheels, immersed in a unique natural environment such as the Po Delta Park.

tirreno adriatica 2011Later over one month of competitions, started in late January between Australia and South America, the best professionals riders of the Italian cycling challenged in the first important race to stages of the national calendar on the roads of 46th Tyrrhenian-Adriatic.

2011’s edition of the “two seas’ race” took place from 9th to 15th March, with start from Tuscany, fromMarina di Carrara, and finish line on the Marche’s Adriatic coast. The winner of Tyrrhenian-Adriatic was crowned on the finish line of the palms coast of Saint Benedict of the Tronto.

In 2010, victory was contended up to the last kilometre between Stefano Garzelli and Michele Scarponi, then classified in that order for difference of positioning, at the end of a week of brave competition. The Tirreno-Adriatico 2011 was as many interesting, with 20 teams at the start-line and 160 riders and the presence of Damiano Cunego and Belgian Philippe Gilbert.

The new edition of the famous Gran Fondo for cycling amateurs is scheduled for Sunday 22nd May in Cesenatico, historical place of the event.

The 2011 edition of Nove Colli, the event the most participated of amatorial cycling with its 12.000 starters, introduces itself with an interesting news for those who already ideally had to renounce to take part at the same event.
